We came away highly impressed with the Railroad House Inn. The history and architecture of the building is amazing, so much originality you are taken back in time. The pan seared salmon was phenomenal with a very generous portion. The flat iron steak with asparagus and mushrooms was near rock star. The lady says the Railroad House sets the standard! I can't argue with that.

We went to celebrate a birthday. This was our first time at this place and it did not disappoint. Per the website, we knew it was half off Wine Wednesday. They had a lot of fun cocktails and a great beer and wine list. We did not order appetizers but we ordered the flatiron and the wild truffle stroganoff with scallops. The steak was cooked perfectly and enjoyed the generous portion of potatoes and asparagus. The stroganoff was huge and the scallops were to die for! Definitely would recommend both dishes. We got the cake (and added ice cream) for dessert. It was just ok... probably would not get again. Overall, it was such a fun, different atmosphere and perfect for celebrating our special occasion! :)

We considered booking here for our rehearsal dinner. We ended up not reserving with them due to the amount of people we were planning to have didn't work with their space options. However, if you are considering this they do have 3 venue spots at their restaurant and are definitely worth checking out! This restaurant has a timeless look with the all wood interior. The day we visited it was right before closing so we called ahead to order. Even with us coming here so late in the afternoon for them they were accommodating and very welcoming! We had a wonderful experience here. I had the Truffle Swiss Burger (hold the swiss for my plate). My husband had the same thing including the Swiss, we very much enjoyed it!

If you're looking for a historic restaurant that serves amazing food near Wrightsville, look no further. This nearly 200-year-old establishment offers a unique dining experience that's a bit pricier than others, but worth every penny. We sought out a nice place for our first night in town and stumbled upon this gem. You can immediately sense the history of the place through its charmingly crooked structure, from the doorway to the floors. We arrived at 8:30 PM with a party of seven and had the place to ourselves, which made for an intimate and memorable evening. Our waiter, whose name I wish I could remember, was exceptionally nice. He provided excellent service, offering recommendations about a nearby Irish pub they own and engaging us in friendly conversation about where we were all from. His attentiveness and hospitality added a personal touch to our dining experience. The food was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Though the menu is a bit pricier than other places, the quality and flavors make it well worth it. This is the go-to place if you're seeking a nice dinner and quality family time. We ordered bottles of wine, with the guys choosing a Malbec. Our waiter introduced the wine and asked if we wanted to sample it before pouring, doing the same with the white wine. Although we aren't wine snobs and will drink almost anything, this added touch of service made us feel special and enhanced the dining experience. Overall, our dinner was fantastic. The combination of delicious food, historic ambiance, and outstanding service made for an unforgettable night. This was a great find, and we can't wait to come back. If you're in the area, don't miss the opportunity to dine here.

This was a spur of the moment decision to eat here. The staff was very friendly and we were seated within a few minutes. We started off with (not pictured) bacon wrapped scallops over sweet potato hash. They were delicious. I could have eaten all 3 myself, and we shared the Pork Belly Sliders. My husband didn't care for the sliders with the mustard and pickles but my mom and I really enjoyed them! For entrees we chose Short Ribs, delicious had a very strong red wine sauce that my husband wasn't a fan of, the baked meatloaf that was delicious, and the special of the day the Halibut, amazing! We ended the night with the crème brûlée, very good, hard crispy top, and fried cheesecake, we thought the cheesecake was a little too sweet. All in all it was delicious, it is a little classier and expensive.

We love the RR House...only reason for four this time is that our server needs more training, specifically knowledge of drinks and menu. Our group sat in the back, fireplace had the place warm and cozy. Such a nice room! The surf and turf looked amazing, good feedback. The Ahi Tuna looked amazing, also very tasty. I had the smoked meatloaf, truly d-lish! Don't order w/o getting the Gouda Mac-n-Cheese, spectacular! It was great to run into and old friend, back East now for four years, good to see you Karl ! Cheers!
